Nursery for a girl

We wont' find out what we're having until at least Thanksgiving, but that hasn't stopped me from planning a nursery for both a boy and a girl.  If we have a girl, I think we'll do a bird theme, based off of the artwork that I found awhile back and fell in love with.  I've also used the first nursery of a blog friend of mine, Erin, as a source of inspiration, and a few other bird- themed nurseries as well.  Obviously nothing is set in stone, but here's what I have so far if we're blessed with a girl...

The only thing we have so far is our dresser, which would also double as a changing table.  I really love the glider chairs, but they're quite a bit more expensive than the glider rockers, so that may get switched.  The artwork is what I LOVE about this room.  I saw it and just KNEW that's what I wanted to base the whole room around.  The yellow is what I think we'd do for paint, and the group of three swatches is what I found for bedding.  The birdhouses are straight from my friend's blog, love them as well!

  3. Well, you know I'm a huge fan! Those swatches are adorable. Are you going to make the bedding? We went with the glider arm chair this time around, and while it is a lot more comfy, it is more pricey. The regular glider worked (works!) just fine! Well, I can't wait to see what you come up with. It's all adorable already. Can't wait to see the boy ideas, too!

  4. ohmygosh, I LOVE this nursery! So cute! I'll probably have you design my next baby's nursery since I had NO clue what I was doing! One bit of advice when choosing a rocker: We went with a cheapie (got it at Kohl's). It's a standard glider rocker that you find anywhere. Anyways, it constantly SLIDES back while you are rocking and dings the wall & window trim behind it (to the point it now needs repairing). I'm always having to pull it back out. I wonder if a glider chair would be more stable...just a thought.
