Nursery Update

We haven't done TOO much more to baby girl's nursery, because I have one more photo session I have to do in there before we clear everything photography related out and really dedicate the room to baby, but here are some pics I took and wanted to share...

1. The painting the whole room is based on... Cherry Blossom Birdies. I was all set to go with the smaller version (18 x 24), because it's kinda pricy, but the hubs said if it was going to be THE focal point, we should spring for the larger version (30 x 40). SO happy we did, as I adore this painting and it really will make the room. Plus, we got it on sale!

2. Our dresser. This was our very first baby related purchase, we actually purchased it just a few days after we found out we were pregnant the first time around. So, even thought it's brand spankin' new, this dresser is kind of a hand-me-down to baby girl from her older brother or sister.

3. The shelves and frame from her Auntie Jeni and Uncle Brad. These shelves were actually built by my hubby, and displayed a portfolio of my photography work. However, even when he built them, we knew this room would (hopefully) be a nursery, so we looked up average changing table heights so he could place them in a safe spot to be above baby someday. These will display some fun artwork and sayings, plus maternity and newborn pictures. Right now, those two photos are from when we told our parents we were pregnant. The frame was a Christmas gift and matches the decor perfectly!

4. Little bitty cowboy boots from Mimi and Granddad.

5. The Chair. If you guys remember, we got this glider at a consignment store for $89, with big plans to recover it. Then we realized how much it would cost to recover ($650+), and also realized how well it matched the painting. While it's definitely brighter than I would have chosen it to be, it's grown on me, and it's actually pretty darn perfect the way it is. It had an awful trim on it that we removed, but you can kind of see where the hot glue remained, so we will probably find a small trim to cover it, but other than that, no changes.

  1. LOVE it all! And that glider goes perfectly with the painting, you're right. No need to spend that $650! It's all coming together so nicely. Can't wait to see baby girl inside her little nest!

  5. I would kill for that bright pink rocker, but I'm someone who always has to 'tone down' my desires for brights. Also, love the print!!!
