I have a confession

I'm not sure if it's just me being hormonal, or being worried because it's such a permanent decision, or if it's really not the right choice, but lately, I've been having second thoughts about the name we chose for our baby girl- Lydia.

We've been thinking of girl names for such a long time, and I haven't really had the "ah ha, this is perfect" moment with any of them- at least not with any of them that Husband agreed with as well. I talked about it with him over the weekend, and we went over my hesitations. I wouldn't say we're back to the drawing board, Lydia is definitely still in my top 3 names, but I don't think we're quite ready to embroider anything.

Am I totally crazy, or did any of you mamas out there have second thoughts about names? Did you end up using a different name, or did your worries go away?

  1. I'm so with you! (I just posted about this, haha...) we had a name picked out before we even found out boy/girl and just yesterday I found a new name that I LOVE and now I don't know what to do!! Thankfully we hadn't ordered anything personalized yet, but I think I might give it a few weeks and try calling her by both names and seeing which one sounds more fitting for us... good luck!!

  2. OMG...I had a girl's name picked out, husband agreed and we started to share with everyone. *HUGE MISTAKE* People's nasty comments ruined it for me and we've chosen a different name we are now in love with but can't stop worrying if its "the" name. Hopefully the worries go away LOL

  3. I think what you should do is try to explore why you aren't feeling 100% about the name- is it other people's comments? inner gut feeling? If its the latter maybe its not the right name, but I know a ton of moms who still aren't sure how much they love their kids names and the kids are 1 and 2yrs old. Its totally normal.
